You don’t need a referral to The Umbrella Club, just come along and get involved.

Yes you can. We understand that it is a big step to come along to club for the first time. You can stay as long as your child needs you too.

We are open every Thursday evening at Westgate Community Centre, Lymington Road, Westgate on Sea, CT8 8ES. For young people aged 10 – 14 we are open 6pm – 7.30pm, for young people aged 15 – 19 we are open 7.30pm – 9pm.

Yes we are. We only close for a few weeks at Christmas. We aim to stay open throughout the rest of the year; we understand that consistency is important to the young people that we work with.

Subs are £1 a week and we have a small tuck shop where young people can purchase drinks and snacks. There is an option to pay a monthly donation in place of weekly subs. Details are available on request.

We ask the young people what they want to do and then we try our best to make it happen! We are fortunate to have a large green space at the community centre, during the summer months we use this space for outdoor games and sports. We also do cooking, arts & crafts, team games and problem solving. We also have table tennis and games consoles.

We welcome volunteers and the wealth of skills that they can bring to our project. All volunteer applications are subject to an enhanced DBS and references. For more information please contact paula@westgateyouthproject.co.uk

The Umbrella Club is run by the charity Westgate Youth Project. We are funded by grants, donations, local community causes and fundraising.
